NORWAY — Dr. R. Reed Gramse, Maine Orthopaedic Center, will speak on “What’s New in Joint Replacement Surgery”
at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Harper Conference Center, Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Gramse, who has been instrumental in bringing a full joint replacement program to Stephens Memorial Hospital, will  explain how joint replacement surgery, close to home, could be beneficial.

Gramse will touch on topics from symptoms and treatment options, surgical and non-surgical, as well as when to consider joint replacement. He will also discuss what is involved in current surgeries, recent advances in minimally invasive surgery and quicker recovery times.

Gramse is a graduate of Loyola University School of Medicine and is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and physical medicine and rehabilitation. He has been a member of the medical staff at SMH since 1996 and his primary office is located at Maine Orthopaedic Center in Portland.

The presentation is free. A healthy dinner will be served, and registration is required by Friday, Sept. 4, at 743-1562, ext. 289. Space is limited.
