STRATTON — The 29th annual meeting of the Alumni Association of the Dead River Area will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Stratton/Eustis Community Building, Main Street.
Anyone who attended Stratton High School, Flagstaff High School or Mt. Abram Regional High School is invited.
Registration will begin around 10 a.m. at which time the annual dues of $5 a family can be paid. The business meeting will start at 11 a.m., followed by the awards given to those having the following graduation anniversaries: 65th (1944), 60th (1949), 50th (1959), 45th (1964), 40th (1969) and 25th (1984). Awards for past and present teachers will also be given out.
Food will be available for sale by the Parents and Teachers Club of Stratton Grammar School, and the alumni dessert table will offer homemade cookies and cakes. Proceeds from the dessert table will go to the scholarship fund.
The Dead River Area Historical Society will pay tribute to the Nile family. The museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Nile Family Tribute will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. so the of alumni can attend both.
