PARIS — Celebration Barn Theater will welcome Davis Robinson, author of “The Physical Comedy Handbook,” at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, for a Meet the Artists event. Robinson will delve into how to develop funny, honest and imaginative theater.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, Michael Miclon and Jason Tardy will co-host “The Early Evening Show,” a theatrical evening of “TV outside the box!” at 8 p.m. Also featured is Matt Tardy, the one-man orchestra.

The Meet the Artists series is designed to give audiences a chance to go behind the scenes and witness the creative work of guest professional theater artists. The evening will include demonstrations and performances by current Barn students, and an opportunity for audience members to ask questions.

Robinson is an associate professor of theater at Bowdoin College and former head of actor training at Emerson College in Boston. He helps people develop their comic skills at colleges, repertory theaters and Motionfest, for the Big Apple Circus Clown Care unit and here in Maine each summer.

“The Early Evening Show’s” wild improvisations, surprise guests and audience interactions have made it the longest running show at The Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield. Miclon has taken his high-energy antics to some of the finest theaters and special events across the United States and Europe, with such highlights as the Kennedy Center and the White House, The Keller Theater in Germany, The Victoria Jungfrau Hotel in Switzerland and the Festa Americana in Italy.

Tickets for the Meet the Artists event are $8. Tickets for “The Early Evening Show” are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and $8 for students and kids.
