AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a bartending course from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 9 through Nov. 18. The cost is $350, including materials, and is open to the public.

Students will learn the basics of professional bartending and mixology and its application in restaurants, clubs, function facilities and more. Upon successful completion, students will have learned how to professionally prepare traditional drinks as well as today’s trendy drinks.

The program also includes the Maine Course, a six-hour seminar in the responsible service of alcohol. Participants will learn the functional level that is acceptable to the State of Maine Liquor Commission and the Department of Human Services.

The course will be taught by Larry Risko.
