Cap and trade, by the president’s admission, will put our energy bills through the roof. Are you okay with that?
A tax reform bill that will increase sales tax burden by a wide margin was passed by the thieves in Augusta. Are you okay with that?

How about the government that takes over major industries in America and decides who will work and who won’t? Are you okay with that?

Are you happy that the words “marriage” and “gay” have been put together, in spite of the fact most Mainers were willing to accept a “civil union” and asked that marriage remain between a man and a woman?

I think that whether you are a Republican, a Democrat or an independent, I think I know what the answers to all of the above questions are.

The answer, “yes,” is only for the most liberal and least understanding among us. We in the Republican Party believe in self-initiative, self reliance, the Constitution of the United States and all of the things that made this country the greatest country in the history of the world.

We have no history in this country, or any other country in the world, of the government improving on the private sector. Not in business, health care, nor the raising and education of our children.

When the government takes hold of any endeavor in our human experience it becomes the “tail” of the dog and shakes the life out of it.
