SIDNEY — Blistered Fingers, voted Bluegrass Band Of The Year by the Maine Academy Of Country Music in 2004, 2005 and 2006, plays a mix of original material, soulful ballads and hard-driving traditional bluegrass music — with a touch of humor.

During the 33rd Blistered Fingers Family Bluegrass Festival, the band from Central Maine will perform along with more than a dozen other musical artists. The event will be held Aug. 27, 28, 29 and 30 at the Silver Spur Riding Club.

Scheduled to perform are Simon St. Pierre of Maine, Saturday; Wilf Clark & The Misty Mountaineers of Maine, Friday; Dailey & Vincent of Tennessee, Friday; The Bluegrass Brothers of Virginia, Thursday and Friday; The Gibson Brothers of New York, Saturday; Dan Paisley & Southern Grass of Pennsylvania, Friday; IIIrd Generation Bluegrass Band of Oklahoma, Saturday and Sunday; Bluegrass Diamonds of Nebraska, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; Acoustic Blue of Massachusetts, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; Cross Over of Connecticut, Saturday and Sunday; Blue Around The Edges of Rhode Island, Thursday; Josh Williams & North Country of Massachusetts, Thursday; and Robinson Gospel Sing Along & Jam of Massachusetts, Sunday.

Blistered Fingers travels extensively throughout the Northeast and eastern Canada, delivering high-energy musical entertainment and a lively stage show.

Lead guitarist Sandy Cormier sings lead as well as harmony with the group. Her husband, Greg Cormier, plays banjo. Their son, Chad, joined the band in 1997. He plays the mandolin and other instruments, and also sings lead and harmony. Blistered Fingers’ newest member, Bob Fletcher, plays the upright acoustic bass and sings lead, tenor and baritone.

Blistered Fingers will play Thursday and Friday.

Admission, per person, is as follows with tickets available at the gate:

All four days with free camping, $70; children 12 and under free with an adult; Thursday only, $10; Friday only, $25 (after 5 p.m., $20); Saturday only, $25 (after 5 p.m., $20); Sunday only, $10; dogs, $10; power, $15 for one’s entire stay.
