ORONO, Maine (AP) – As they enter their final week of preseason camp in Orono, the University of Maine Black Bears are ranked 19th in the 2009 FCS Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll.

Maine is one of eight Colonial Athletic Association football teams ranked in the national poll, which is voted on by head coaches from the Division I Football Championship Subdivision. Maine tied for 19th place with Jacksonville State.

The Black Bears, who finished the 2008 season with an 8-5 record and a No. 16 ranking in the final FCS coaches poll of the year, open their 2009 regular season on Thursday, Sept. 3, when they play host to St. Cloud State at Alfond Stadium.
