BANGOR, Maine (AP) – A man who was in a scuffle with rangers at Acadia National Park has filed a federal lawsuit alleging the rangers violated his constitutional rights.

Timothy Wild is seeking compensation for medical costs and lost wages after he says he was handcuffed and thrown to the ground on Aug. 19, 2008.

The Bangor Daily News reports the lawsuit comes two weeks after prosecutors cleared Rangers James Lyon, Louis Jahrling and Kevin Donnell, who were accused of using excessive force.

Wild was with co-workers from the park’s Jordan Pond House restaurant, taking a midnight hike up Day Mountain, an annual tradition. Rangers detained the group after receiving a complaint there might be underage drinking or other illegal activity.
