WILTON — The following sessions are to be held at the Wilton CareerCenter, 865 US Route 2E in Wilton. These workshops are at no charge to the public. All workshops begin promptly at listed times. Registration  is required.

CareerCenter Employment and Training Orientation is held each Monday, 10 a.m. to noon. It is an explanation of training programs and career exploration. This workshop also provides a brief introduction to the Wilton CareerCenter services.

CareerCenter and Job Search Orientation is held every Tuesday, 9 a.m.-noon. Find out what services and resources the Wilton CareerCenter has to offer the newly unemployed or someone looking for a new career. An orientation, this presentation will give you an overview of what is available here to assist people who are looking for work. You can also become registered for the CareerCenter job matching system, at the end of the workshops.

CareerCenter Youth Orientation is offered Sept. 10, 10 a.m.-noon, and again Sept. 24, same time. It’s a workshop for youth ages 16-21 who are looking for a job. It offers guidance about which careers might fit a young person best and introduces attendees to services at the Wilton CareerCenter.

Résumé Writing, Sept. 21, 1:30-3 p.m., and again Sept. 28, same time. Explore the basics of résumés and applications and learn what can make a résumé or application stand out. Please bring work and educational history.

Ace That Interview! on Sept. 17, 2:30-4 p.m. Learn how to prepare for a successful job interview and how to promote the qualifications that directly match what the employer needs. Be prepared for the “tough” questions and able to answer them with confidence. Obtain tips on how to dress and what to take to the interview.

Preparing Your Résumé for Online Applications, Sept. 14, 1:30-3 p.m. Helping attendees format their résumé so it can be attached to an online application. Please bring work and educational history.

Creating Your Professional Portfolio, Sept. 17, 10 a.m.-noon. Creating a personal portfolio allows you to document your acquisition of knowledge, skills and expertise. It is an important record that will be useful to you in your job search and career planning, or as you pursue higher education. This workshop will outline the process and help you create this important document.

MEO-101 — Essentials of College Planning, Sept. 17, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Instructions on filling out financial aid forms to assist you in getting the maximum amount in grants or loans. Those interested must preregister for this session by calling 1-800-281-3703.

O*net Ability Profiler. Call for further information as this workshop requires five or more people for attendance. This is a career exploration tool that helps clients plan work lives using a paper and pencil format with optional apparatus parts and computerized scoring. Results can be used to identify strengths for which more training/education is needed, and to identify occupations that fit those strengths.
