Vacation school

DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Church of the Nazarene will hold a Vacation Bible School titled “Custom Garage” from 6 to 8 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 21. The school is for ages 3 to 10. For more information, call 562-7828.

Author to talk

MEXICO — The Mexico Historical Society meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 25, will feature Monica Wood, local author. She will describe her life in Mexico and what led her to writing. She will also give excerpts from her new book. 

A 5:30 p.m. potluck supper will be held, with the program at 6:30 in the Calvin Lyons room under the town hall.

Financial class 

RUMFORD — Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University is coming to the Rumford Public Library. A free preview/question and answer meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19. The first class will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2. For more information, call 562-1044 or visit   

Neighborly Seniors

DIXFIELD — The Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the American Legion Hall.
After an 11 a.m. meeting, a potluck dinner will be held at noon, followed by nickel beano. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. for anyone wishing to play beano. New members are welcome.

There is still room for the Oct. 6 bus trip to Fryeburg Fair. For more information, call Connie at 364-4189.
