Evelyn A. Dyke
1914-2009

FARMINGTON – Evelyn A. Dyke, 95, formerly of Livermore, died Monday, Aug. 31, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for one day. She had resided at Sandy River Nursing Home for the past five years.

She was born on July 17, 1914, in Livermore, the daughter of Archie and Beatrice M. (Hodge) Atkinson. She was educated in the Livermore and Canton school systems. In 1958, she married Harold P. Dyke of Canton; he passed away in 1963. Evelyn worked for the Livermore Post Office and the Phillips Market in Livermore.

She attended the Livermore Methodist Church in Livermore. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, her flower garden and the brook in her backyard.

She is survived by a brother, Lawrence Atkinson and his wife, Gelia, of Livermore; nieces, Beatrice Farrington, Janice Farrington and April Pomerleau, all of Jay, and Barbara Bryant of North Turner; and nephews, David Atkinson of Canton, Roger Libby and his wife, Emily, of Leeds, and Merle Libby of North Turner.

She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Atkinson; two sisters, Marion Libby and Catherine Bacheller; and longtime companion, Asa Timberlake.
