AUBURN — Gordan A. Mason, 68, of Whitney Street, Auburn, died unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 31, at his residence.

He was born in Augusta, Ga., on Jan. 5, 1941, the son of Abraham and Marion (Walton) Mason.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served his country for eight years. He enjoyed fishing and being with his friends, as well as sports — especially boxing, basketball and baseball.

Prior to his retirement he worked for over 20 years for the Morin Brick Yard.

He is survived by three sons, Vernon Mailey of Gray, Anthony Mason and his companion, Trish Bruneau, of Sabattus, and Joseph Mailey of Auburn; one daughter, Cathy Pagon and her husband, Leaton, of Auburn; six grandchildren, Sebrina, Ashley, Shannon, Sean, Jordon and Austin; and one great-granddaughter, Jaden.

He was predeceased by his parents and his wife Hester of 29 years — who died on Jan. 3, 2000.
