PARIS — The Foster Carroll Post 72, American Legion, and Auxiliary, Church Street, South Paris, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9. A smorgasbord lunch will be served by the auxiliary followed by a meeting. New members are invited to the lunch and meeting.

The auxiliary is planning a busy schedule for 2009-2010. Members will have a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Legion Hall. There are a few tables left. If interested in renting a table, call Lillian Herrick at 743-2941.

The Legion has rented the hall to the Jones Dance Band on Saturday nights. The band plays old-fashioned dance music. Admission is $5. The lunch counter is open from 5:30 to 10 p.m.

The Legion men hold beano every Tuesday, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. and games starting at 6:30. The Auxiliary has a lunch bar open.

The organization is open to men and women from all service branches who have served in war time. The auxiliary invites women, mothers, grandmothers, step mothers, sisters and wives who have a family member who has served in the armed forces to join the group.
