Coach: Art Chamberlin (16th year)

Last year’s record: 4-8-3, lost in Western C preliminary

Returning letter winners: Seniors — Lindsey Brann (MF), Cassie Moretto (F), Jane Hebert (MF/G), Emily Chase (SK), Emily Luce (FB), Kirstin Blood (FB), Kelly Gould (F); Junior — Kym Dolloff (G); Sophomore — Erin Turner (MF).

Key losses:  Tia Dakin (F), Rachel Child (F), Jazmine Brooks (MF), Kayla Chiasson (FB), Kristen Harvey (MF), Nicole Berry (FB), Kayla Schuster (MF), Lanette Bryant (G), Angela Knox (FB), Dejouvon Cawthon (FB), Ashley Hodge (MF), Shalee Bradbury (MF).

Promising newcomers: Sophomores — Larissa Bryant (MF), Alyssa Wade (MF/G), Paige Murphy (SK), Mariah Larsen (FB), Miranda Shurtleff (MF), Amelia Tacheny (MF/G), Betsy Noyes (FB); Freshmen  — Natalie Bolduc (SK), Amber Wilson (FB), Gretchen Bradbury (FB), Kayla Gaudin (FB), Natasha DeRoche (FB/G).

Outlook: The Cougars lost the bulk of its roster to graduation. Most of the 35 players on the squad are freshmen or sophomores. Only four returning players were regular varsity players last season. Goal will be an issue for the Cougars. Dolloff is out with a knee injury and may be lost for the season. That leaves Hebert, Tachney, Deroche and Wade all vying for the goal. Dirigo is young but promising.

Coach’s comment:

“We have good senior leadership, a strong tradition of good soccer and hard work. We should improve steadily throughout the season. This is a very young team with a very bright future.” — Coach Art Chamberlin
