Coach: Dick Mynahan (22nd year)

Last year’s record: 8-3, lost in Western Class C final

Returning letter winners: Seniors — Joe Doughty (T/G/DT), Art Stambach (T/G/DT), Scott Eck (RB/DB); Juniors — John Crafts (C/DE), Tobey Harrington (RB/DB), Mike McNamara (LB/RB).

Key losses: Jake Cyr (RB/LB), Josh Cote (FB/LB), Nate Blackwell (QB/S), Guy Jenkins (DB), Tyler Gawrys (OL/DL).

Promising newcomers: Seniors — Chris Whitney (WR/QB), Andy Tupper (WR/LB), Ryan Havlicek (DL); Juniors — Luke Caron (QB), Josh Pomerleau (RB/DB), Nick Dingley (OL), Chyle Cameron (OL); Sophomores — Dalton Dunphy (OL), Dan Constantino (LB).

Outlook: The Greyhounds return three of their five starting offensive linemen but feature a mostly new backfield. Harrington has game-breaking ability as a runner and receiver and on special teams. Lisbon may follow the trend of local teams employing the spread offense to fit its surplus of small, quick, versatile backs. Mynahan considers Old Orchard Beach and Yarmouth the favorites in the new southern division of the Class C Campbell Conference, but his fellow coaches see the Greyhounds right in that mix, as always.

Coach’s comment:

“We have a lot of backs that are 125, 130, 140 pounds. We’ve liked to grind it out three or four yards at a time, but I think we’ll need to break a few this year.” — Dick Mynahan
