Coach: Nate Danforth (second year)
Last year’s record: 0-8
Returning letter winners: Senior — Jake Hall (QB/FS/K), Nate Dubois (TB/SS), Eli Dolloff (slot/OLB), Josh Champagne (FB/NT).
Key losses: Josh Desrosier (T/DE), D.J. Drew (RB).
Promising newcomers: Seniors — Ryan Voye (T/LB), Asher White (slot/DE); Junior — Danny Taylor (CB).
Outlook: If the Vikings hope to start turning things around, it has to start with the defense, which surrendered over 40 ppg last season. Danforth has changed to a 5-2 front and expects the entire unit to be more physical. Hall, coming off an injury-plagued junior season, can make big plays with his legs and arm. Dubois is a double threat out of the backfield.
Coach’s comment:
“I think we’ve got a strong core of football players. The kids want to dig in and hold their ground this year.” — Coach Nate Danforth
