Dartmouth 3, Maine 1

HANOVER, N.H. — Laura Martel of Lewiston scored Maine’s only goal in a 3-1 loss to Dartmouth in women’s soccer play Friday.

 After Dartmouth took a 1-0 lead, Martel tied the game for the Black Bears (1-2) on a header off a scramble following a free kick at 31:37. But Dartmouth (1-0) regained the lead seven minutes later on an arching shot from 20 yards out. 

Maine’s offense was limited to five shots and two corner kicks.
