Homemakers to meet

CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the Chesterville Town Office. A work session for the Chester Greenwood Festival of Trees will be held. The public is invited to attend.

Benefit barbecue

FAYETTE — A benefit barbecue will be held for Luke and Sabrina Peel from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Fayette Central School, Main Street. There will be live music, a barbecue and raffles. Cost will be $8 for adults; $5 for kids 10 and under.

 Society trip

FARMINGTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, MGS, will meet Saturday, Sept. 12, for a trip to the Taconnett Genealogy Library in Winslow.

In addition to a large collection for Maine research, there are a lot of Franco-American, French Canadian, Acadian and Quebec records.

The group will meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot in front of Mr Paper Back for car pooling. Those going should bring a brown bag lunch. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to join the group. For more information, call 778-4260 or 645-2257.
