An invitation for the 2009 Christmas in the Valley parade

To participate in the Christmas in the Valley parade and help celebrate the spirit of Christmas throughout the River Valley communities, let’s all join in the fun and support this regional community celebration.

WHEN: Sunday, December 6. Parade starts promptly at 2 p.m.

RAIN, SNOW OR SHINE

WHERE: Starting from the Dirigo High School parking lot in Dixfield, the parade will end on Congress St. in Rumford. Parade disassembles at King Hiram Lodge and reassembles at Labonville — all float participants will board buses for transporting.

THEME: “A Country Christmas”

HOW: Get together with your staff, friends and/or family … put your imaginations to work and design a float to take part in the parade. Fill out the registration form below and return it to the Chamber at 10 Bridge Street, Rumford.

JUDGING: Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and how well they depict the theme.

PRIZES: First, second and third place awards will be presented in two categories:

Non-profit/civic and Commercial/Business. Banners will be placed in front of each of the winning floats so spectators will know who the winners are.
