LEWISTON — Rainbow Federal Credit Union recently presented $500 checks to 10 students for their outstanding academic and community involvement.
This is the third year that the credit union has offered the scholarship program and it is available to six area high schools: Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, Edward Little High School, Lewiston High School, Poland Regional High School, St. Dominic High School and Leavitt Area High School. Students wishing more information should contact their Guidance Counselors in the spring of 2010.
Applicants must be members of Rainbow Federal Credit Union, current students in good standing and have completed at least one semester (15 credit hours) at a two- or four-year college, university or technical college.
In celebration of National Credit Union Week, scholarship applications will be available on Thursday, Oct. 15, at all of the branches. The scholarships will be presented at Rainbow’s 54th annual meeting on March 7, 2010. Scholarship submissions are due no later than Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2010.
