Dear Sun Spots: Thank you so much for your very informational column. Now I need your help. For many years I have purchased a one-piece undergarment, Playtex 2532, firm control, but now I am unable to find it anywhere. Could you please find out if it, or something similar, is still available? I have no computer to research this. Thank you so much. — No Name, No Town

Answer: According to numerous Web sites, Playtex has discontinued this item. There are however, a few left in limited sizes and colors at some sites. Sun Spots found three stores, Orchard Corsets, the Girdle Zone and Crepe-Suzette, which listed the item available in limited quantities. They all had the same phone number, however, 1-866-456-7411, so they either share a call center or are owned by the same company. If they have what you want, you might want to buy extras, since you won’t be able to find it in the future, except perhaps on eBay, which had one for sale.

Dear Sun Spots: I read your column everyday and always see something new. Keep up the good work! I’m looking for a recipe for pulled pork to use in sandwiches. Also, I have a house full of craft supplies I can no longer use. They are available to anyone who can use them. I can be reached at 782-9761. Thank you. — No Name, No Town

Answer: Sun Spots found this recipe for pulled pork at www.goodhousekeeping.com:

Ingredients

1 medium onion, chopped

½ cup ketchup

? cup cider vinegar

¼ cup packed brown sugar

¼ cup tomato paste

2 tablespoons sweet paprika

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons yellow mustard

1½ teaspoons salt

1¼ teaspoons ground black pepper

4 pounds boneless pork shoulder blade roast (fresh pork butt), cut into 4 pieces

12 soft sandwich buns or ciabatta rolls, warmed

Dill pickles (optional)

Potato chips (optional)

Hot sauce (optional)

Directions

In 4½- to 6-quart slow-cooker pot, stir onion, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, tomato paste, paprika, Worcestershire, mustard, salt, and pepper until combined. Add pork to sauce mixture and turn to coat well with sauce.

Cover slow cooker with lid and cook pork mixture on low setting as manufacturer directs, 8 to 10 hours or until pork is very tender. With tongs, transfer pork to large bowl. Turn setting on slow cooker to high; cover and heat sauce to boiling to thicken and reduce slightly. While sauce boils, with two forks pull pork into shreds. Return shredded pork to slow cooker and toss with sauce to combine. Cover slow cooker and heat through on high setting if necessary.

Spoon pork mixture onto bottom of sandwich buns; replace tops of buns. Serve sandwiches with pickles, potato chips, and hot sauce if you like.

There were many other recipes for this southern favorite on the Internet. Many called for using green pepper; a couple suggested adding a can of root beer!
