Dear Sun Spots: The Walton Elementary School, located at 92 Mary Carroll St. in Auburn, is in need of clothing in good repair (clean, no tears and stain-free) for our clothing bank. The items needed are shirts, T-shirts, jeans and pants for both boys and girls. We are looking for youth sizes ranging from 4/5 through 16 and junior and plus sizes for girls as well. Also, we need husky pants and jeans in sizes 10 through 16 for boys.

Last year was our first in proving this need, and Kelly Bosse was extremely generous in helping us get started, so we extend our sincere appreciation to her. Now it can be your turn. If you have a closet full of children’s clothing and would like to help a worthy cause, here is your chance to help your community. No cash will be exchanged, just a chance for kids and their families to pick up clothing they may need.

We greatly appreciate your help in this new endeavor. You may call Sharon Fuller, our secretary at Walton Elementary School, and leave a message with her. The telephone number is 784-1528. — Michelle McClellan, principal, Walton Elementary School

Dear Sun Spots: BEI, a computer company, first located on Lisbon Street in Lewiston, and then on the corner of Court and Main streets in Auburn, has gone out of business. My contact was a gentleman named Dwane. Could you please help me locate Dwane or someone else from this company? Before going out of business, they had my hard drive. I would information they retrieved off the drive returned to me. I can be reached at 515-1113. — No Name, No Town

Answer: Sun Spots had no computer hits. She made a few calls, but no one had heard of BEI. Are you sure you have the name of the company right? BEI is a type of hard drive, so that could lead to confusion. Perhaps a reader will be able to help.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for a little yarn to finish a pair of socks. I need enough to finish three inches. It’s Red Heart, 4-ply, 100 percent virgin wool, 410 powder blue, dye lot 5847. I’m not sure how old the yarn is. I can be reached at 364-8339. — Lane McDonald, Rumford

Answer: Sun Spots searched the Internet but had no luck. The Red Heart Web site is www.redheart.com. You can call them at 1-800-648-1479. They sell powder blue yarn, but not in wool. One site, www.Herrschners.com, 1-800-713-1239, claimed to carry the entire Red Heart collection, but Sun Spots got no hit looking for your color. If no readers are able to help you, you might try calling these companies. Perhaps they have some older yarn in a back room

Dear Sun Spots: I would like a mailing address for Joe Torre, manager of the L.A. Dodgers. Thank you. — Glenn, No Town

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for genealogical information on the family of Esther and William Small of Jay. The children branched out into the Dixfield/Peru/Rumford area. Some related surnames are Mayhew, Whitman, Chase and Brann. The most recent descendant would have been Mary Chase Brann of Peru, great granddaughter of Esther Small. I own some Small family records dating to the late 19th century and have done extensive research. I would like to see pictures of the family or any other information available. Please e-mail sarahasousa@gmail.com or write Sarah Sousa, 369 Bullitt Road, Ashfield, MA 01330. Thank you. — Sarah, Phillips
