RANGELEY — State police arrested a Rangeley woman Sunday on a charge of felony theft related to about $3,000 in cash and checks stolen from Stubby’s Market where she worked, Trooper Aaron Turcotte said Monday.

Angela M. White, 18, was also charged with falsifying physical evidence, Turcotte said. She was released on $250 cash bail on Sunday from the Franklin County Jail in Farmington.

When a night employee at the Main Street market couldn’t get into the secure place to put the money bag in the night box, Turcotte said, the day employee was informed where the money bag would be put. White, the day employee, said she couldn’t find the money, he said.

Turcotte and Rangeley police officer Eric Quatrano conducted a series of interviews Sunday and then charged White with theft at the Rangeley Police Station.
