Sock hop

RUMFORD — The Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 will host a sock hop from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. There will be a car hop menu available from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and music by Eric Schmersal from 7 to 11 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the best 1950s outfit, Elvis outfit and jitterbug.

Quilters

RUMFORD — The Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday,
Oct. 12, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. All
interested area quilters are invited.

Twelve-and-a-half- inch squares will be accepted for the square bank
including the Maple Leaf square. Those who made name tags are
encouraged to bring them to the meeting. Show and tell items are always

RUMFORD — The Mexico High School Class of 1959 is invited to meet on
Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shoppe in Rumford, on
Route 2, at 11:30 a.m.

Isabella meeting

RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at
6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Parish of the Holy Savior hall.
Committee members are: Chairwoman Dot Benedix, Sandra Martin,
Margaret Elliot, Barbara Clarke and Janette Blouin.
