NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library Friends 2009 annual membership drive was successful, raising approximately $6,500 for the group to continue funding programs and services for the library, including the purchase of audio books and DVDs, sponsorship of four library programs, renewal of membership passes to the Portland Museum of Art and to the Maine Wildlife Park and publication of three newsletters to Friends members.

The Friends offered new and renewing members the opportunity to win one of four prizes in a Raise Your Sights on the Arts raffle. The drawing was held in August and winners were Robert Neilson, two tickets to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Mass. and a $25 gift certificate for the Museum Café; Jean Saunders, two tickets to the Odd Fellows Christmas performance in Buckfield; Shelley Griffiths, two tickets to the fall OHMPAA show, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying;” and Harriet Gilpatrick, two tickets to the Tardy Bros.
