SOUTH PARIS – Emily Grund scored on a direct kick with 14:03 remaining in regulation to lift Edward Little to a 1-0 victory over Oxford Hills in their KVAC regular-season girls’ soccer finale Tuesday.
Edward Little will advance to the Eastern Class A playoffs as the No. 8 seed.
The Red Eddies (6-6-2) had multiple chnces to score, but keeper Samantha Hatch played a solid game for the Vikings (0-12-2). Hatch finished with seven saves, while Kate Sawyer turned back three shots for EL to preserve the shutout.
Winslow 4, Gardiner 1
AUGUSTA – Jordan Mallett netted a goal in each half as unbeaten Winslow hustled to a 4-1 victory over Gardiner.
Alliyah Veilleux and Kim Curtis also tallied for the Black Raiders (15-0) to complete the scoring.Jessica Gordon made seven saves for Winslow to notch the win.
Ashley Abbott scored the Tigers’ (9-2-4) lone goal with an assist by Kate Turmell. Jenn Day turned aside 18 shots between the posts for Gardiner.
Boys’ soccer
EL 3, Oxford Hills 2
AUBURN – Jeremy Therriault scored on an indirect kick with 21:30 left in the second half to lift Edward Little to a 3-2 victory over Oxford Hills in a late-season KVAC boys’ soccer tilt.
Nate Blais gave the Red Eddies (8-4-2) a 2-0 advantage in the first frame with assists from Therriault and Tim Mains. Ian Dollen-Oliveto made 10 saves in net for EL to record the win.
The Vikings (1-13-1) received goals from Tobias Wahlers and Derek Morin. Matt McVety handled netkeeping duties and turned back seven shots in the contest.
Lewiston 6, Morse 1
BATH – Playoff-bound Lewiston finished out the season with 6-1 lopsided win over Morse in boys’ soccer game Tuesday evening.
The Blue Devils (9-2-3) had no problem building a 4-0 lead by the first half.
Lewiston’s Abdallahi Omer and Shobow Saban each scored a goal and picked an assist. J.J. Musse, Ahmed Mohamed and Dahir Abdi also scored goals. Omer’s goal came on a penalty kick.
The Shipbuilders managed to get a point on the scoreboard whne Blak McElman scored on a Taylor Oddleifson feed in the second half.
