LEWISTON — The Ramada Inn on Pleasant Street in Lewiston has been sold by Gary Adams to George Gendron, both of Lewiston, for an undisclosed amount in a deal completed Thursday.

Adams, who operated the inn for more than 35 years, said Gendron would continue the operation and would retain all of the current staff. The hotel includes a conference center and restaurant and hosts a variety of events, including weddings and reunions.

“It should be relatively seamless,” Adams said of the transition.

Gendron had been a longtime minority owner of the hotel, according to a news release. He also owns Andy Valley Gymnastics, service stations, and a retail lobster and seafood business on outer Lisbon Street.

Adams said he would stay on to help Gendron through February.

“It got to a point where I decided it was just time for me to step down and sell,” Adams said. “I’m also 68 years old and it came time to go play for awhile.” He and his wife plan to retire in Florida.

Gendron was unavailable for comment Thursday.
