Dora M. Thibodeau

1926 – 2009

LEWISTON – Dora M. Thibodeau, 82, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Auburn, died Monday, Oct. 19, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 2, 1926, daughter of Percy Tripp and Rita Snow. She was raised by her paternal grandmother, Minnie Tripp. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1944.

After raising her family, she worked at Crest Shoe Co. in Lewiston for 25 years, retiring in 19­­83.

Dora married Henry L. Thibodeau on June 15, 1946. After retirement, she and Henry traveled the country many times in their RV before settling in Sebring, Fla. She spent many summers in Mechanic Falls with family.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Henry L. Thibodeau; two sons, Leonard H. Thibodeau and wife, Christine, of Marblehead, Mass., and Gary F. Thibodeau and wife, Margaret, of Mechanic Falls; half-sister Anita Schenk and husband, Randy, of Lewiston; half- brothers, Leonard Marcotte and wife, Rolande, of Orr’s Island, Armand Marcotte of Auburn, and Raymond Marcotte and wife, Vera, of Lewiston; sister-in-law, Rose Marcotte, of Auburn; five grandchildren, Wendy, Brian, Christopher, Patty and Stephanie; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her grandmother; parents; and a brother, Laurence Marcotte.
