Germaine M. Dumont
1920 – 2009
AUBURN- Germaine M. Dumont, 89, of 26 Bolster St., Auburn, died unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 23, at Bolster Heights Health Care Facility.
She was born in Lewiston on Jan. 11, 1920, the daughter of Napoleon and Marie Louise (Bolduc) Fillion, and had been a resident of this community all of her life.
She was the owner and operator of Eddie’s Cash Market for many years. She then was a housekeeper in various homes in the community. She was a member of the L&A Working Men’s Club, Hurricane Club and other local organizations. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church.
Germaine enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Rolande Breton of Lewiston and Doris Daigle and her husband, James, of Lewiston; one brother, Roger Fillion of Lewiston; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Roland “Rolly” Roy; her first husband, Roland Deguise; her second husband, Gerard Roy; and her third husband, Edgar Dumont; two sisters, Rita Paradis and Theresa Berger; and two brothers, Henri Louis Fillion and Ronald Fillion.
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Bolster Heights for the excellent care they have given to Germaine. She always said she was blessed for being there.
