Conrad C. Bard
1927 – 2009

LEWISTON — Conrad C. Bard, 82, a resident of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, formerly of Lisbon and Sabattus, died early Wednesday, Oct. 28, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion, after a brief illness.

He was born in Fort Kent, March 14, 1927, the son of Joseph and Gertrude (Chasse) Bard. He was employed at the former Hill Mill, retiring many years ago. After retirement, he volunteered at area nursing homes and was active with the Rev. Napoleon J. Cournoyer Knights of Columbus Council 2358 in Lisbon.

He also enjoyed tending to his big vegetable garden, which was a source of pride to him.

Survivors include four sons, Richard and his wife, Linda, of Lisbon, Roger and his wife, Lorraine, of Lewiston, Alfred and his wife, Joanne, also of Lewiston and Raymond and his wife, Debbie, of Augusta; one daughter, Linda Coppens and her husband, Dave, of Wisconsin; one daughter-in-law, Judy Bard of Lisbon; one niece, Trudy Farquhar and her husband, Stewart, of Millinockett; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

He was predeceased by his first wife, Cecile; second wife, Germaine’ one brother, Robert; a stepsister, Jeannette Bard; one grand-daughter, Kimberly Coppens; and twin great-granddaughters, Samantha and Kayla Rodrigue.

Special thanks to the staff at d’Youville Pavilion for going beyond the call of duty in the professional care given to our father and also to the Sabattus Police Department for checking in on him when he was sick.
