DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am a summer and fall visitor to Maine, and this fall I read your Oct. 21 column on the disposal of fur pieces. I had a fur stole, white mink, given to me by my husband, who is now deceased, for our 25th wedding anniversary.

Several years ago, on my Maine visit I discovered a lady who made teddy bears out of fur pieces. Since I didn’t want to just give it away for sentimental reasons, I contacted this lady. She made me four teddy bears, using the lining for the foot pads. There was enough fur to make one large, two medium-sized and one smaller teddy bear. I gave the large size to my one-and-only granddaughter. The two medium to my twin daughters, and I kept the small one to remember my wedding anniversary, which would have been 62 years this past October.

The person who made the Teddy Bears is Angie Rogers, P.O. Box 185, Gray, ME 04039, 428-4415. I’m hoping someone might enjoy this information. — Betty, Florida

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have an old raccoon coat, and I would like to have some Teddy Bears made from the fur. Is there anyone out there who does this? Thank you. Call 784-2686. — No Name, Auburn

ANSWER:
It isn’t often that Sun Spots gets the answer to a question before the question! See the previous letter for your answer.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the person asking for a ceramic Christmas tree, I have one that I will sell for $20. It is handmade, about 18 inches tall and green with white trim like snow on the trips of the branches. It is lighted and has star for the top. Call 777-1693. — No Name, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In reply to No Name, No Town in the Oct. 23 column, I
have an older, large ceramic-type Christmas tree that lights up. I
would be willing to sell it for $5 plus shipping costs, or they could
pick it up if within reasonable distance.

Also, in the spring a man named Tony and two friends came to my house to look at my husband’s Indian relic collection. He wanted me to call him and set up a date when he could come back to film the collection. Unfortunately, I have lost the paper with his full name and phone number. If Tony or someone who knows him reads this, please him call me.

My phone number is 583-2576. Thank you. — Mrs. J. Kimball, Waterford

DEAR SUN SPOTS: To No Name, No Town, I have beautiful lighted Christmas tree with a toggle on/off switch I would be willing to sell to her. It has a star at the top and a base with holly and berries. I also have a small Christmas village and other holiday décor. My telephone number is 946-5498. — Sally Moulton, Greene

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In reference to the question about the man standing at the intersection of Wal-Mart/Kohl’s asking for donations because he “lost everything in a fire.” That same person was standing near Wal-Mart last year doing the same thing. Maybe instead of offering to tell his story, the Sun Journal should do some investigative reporting.— Mickey, Lewiston
