Elizabeth Ouellette
1927 – 2009
AUBURN – Elizabeth “Betty” Ouellette, 82, of Lewiston, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, after a long illness.
She was born in Caribou on Jan. 26, 1927, a daughter of Ezra and Phoebe (Wilcox) Miller.
Betty married Joseph Ouellette on Sept. 16, 1946, in Lewiston, following his return from serving his country in World War II. Elizabeth and Joseph settled in Lewiston, working and raising their four children. She spent many years working in the shoe industry before working in electronics for Arrow Heart Co. from which she retired.
Betty was an extremely avid Beano player whose enthusiasm for the game was exceeded only by her love and devotion to her family.
Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph; two sons, Robert Ouellette and his wife, Karen, of Poland, and Michael Ouellette of Lewiston; two daughters, Anna Dube of Womelsdorf, Pa., and Debra White of Poland; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.
