Laurin “Ted” Kaulback
1938 – 2009
RUMFORD — Laurin “Ted” Kaulback, 71, of Rumford, died Friday, Nov. 20, at Rumford Hospital.
Born in Rumford on May 4, 1938, he was a son of the late Laurin and Oressa (Rhodenizer) Kaulback. He was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford.
He served 23 years in the Army National Guard as a staff sergeant with the 10th Mountain Division.
He worked for Boise Cascade as a welder and retired as a maintenance supervisor.
Ted was a member of Napoleon Ouellette Post No. 24 American Legion. He served as a trustee of the First Congregational Church in Andover. He enjoyed woodworking, car racing, fairs and trips to Prince Edward Island. He was a member and past president of the Polar Bear Snowmobile Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Kelly O’Halloran and her husband, Jon, of Peru, and Aimee Feinster of Colorado; three sons, Jerry and his wife, Lori, of Southampton, Mass., Spencer of Rumford, and Kevin of Rumford; sisters, Ruby Greenwood of Newport, Vt., Gladys Gilbert of Rumford, Phyllis Richards of Rumford, and Ruth “Midge” Gill and husband, Robert, of Rumford; many grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his significant other, Shirley Gammon of Rumford.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Geneva Theriault and Madeline Duguay.
