I recently received a mass mailing to clergy encouraging support of an advertisement “from the Faith Community to Senators Snowe and Collins,” about health care reform and providing the clergy with a list of “talking points.”
Although everyone wants affordable health care, I do not agree with the advertisement (in the Sun Journal Nov. 18) in favor of the partisan bills essentially advocating a form of socialized medicine. I believe that many members of the clergy do not support a partisan health care bill, especially one that has not been read by the public before it is amended and passed in the middle of the night.
