LEWISTON — St. Mary’s Health System’s 13th annual Festival of Lights and Memorial Tree Lighting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, starting at 5:30 p.m.
The blue spruce tree, a donation from the Gagne family of Lewiston, has served as the centerpiece of the festival for the past 10 years. The tree lighting will take place on the corner of Sabattus Street and Campus Avenue.
After the tree is lit, there will be hot cocoa inside the Lepage Conference Center. There will also be a raffle, visits and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, face painting, caroling, music, pizza, popcorn, baked goods and pizza.
Proceeds from the festival benefit the Renaissance and Genesis Residential Treatment Facilities. The programs provide a safe, healthy and supportive environment for children and give them hope for a productive future. The 12 to 15 young people who live at Genesis or Renaissance have been developmentally affected by trauma or other life events.
