Coach: Mark Stevens (13th year)
Last year’s record: Class C state champions
Returning letter winners: Seniors – Marcus Bubar (145), Christian Taylor (145), Art Stambach (189), Joe Doughty (215); Juniors – Forrest Cornell (112), Josh Pomerleau (125), Mike McNamara (130), Matt Nicholson (135), John Gamache (152/160), Steph Hayslip (103).
Key losses: Mike McManus (125), Kyle Huston (160), Cam Bubar (171), Dan Scofield (275).
Promising newcomers: Seniors – Ryan Havlicek (140/145), Lance Thomas (140/145); Junior – Seth Bucher (145); Sophomore – Zach Splude (160/171); Freshmen – Sean McManus (140/145), Nate Dawson (140).
What to expect: The Greyhounds have several experienced wrestlers returning from last year’s state championship team. That includes two-time state champions Cornell, Bubar and McNamara. Doughty is also a reigning state champion. There is plenty in reserve with finalists Pomerleau and Nicholson, while Stambach placed fourth. With a state qualifier replacing the regional meets in Class C,  criteria for seeding could hurt Lisbon, which has one of the toughest schedules in Maine.
Outlook: “We know from the past that it is more difficult to remain on top than it is to get there. We will have to raise the bar and work harder this season if we want to repeat as champs. Last year was the first time in history Lisbon won all three  – leagues, regionals and states … and the MAWA All-Star Tourney, too.” – Coach Mark Stevens
