AUBURN — The families and friends of Annie Demers of the Esplanade in Auburn recently joined at the home of Ann and Phil Macomber in Gray to celebrate her 90th birthday.

Robert Joncas, who was cared for by Demers when he was an infant, designed a family tree. Generational T-shirts were designed with Demers being in purple, second generation in blue, third generation in red, fourth generation in white and fifth generation in gold.

The newest member of the family, 4-day-old Braylin York, stopped by to meet her great-great-grandmother for a few moments. Curtis and Alex Brown entertained the group with their saxophones and lead the group with singing “Happy Birthday.” Curtis also presented Demers with a picture he designed. Zachary Roy sang the song “Suds in the Bucket.”

Demers was presented a tree made of 90 scratch lottery tickets. A poem was written by Katreena Meserve and read by Tammy Brown. A DVD was presented to Demers of pictures from the past and present. Nine members of the Edward Little High School Class of 1938 were in attendance. Oldest son, Andrew, shared a story about when he was 7-years-old. He read a special message that was written by his wife, Pat. Patricia Demers, daughter-in-law, also shared special memories.

Other family members in attendance were Pamela Demers and Paul Moreau; Marc and Kristina Demers; Richard Demers; Denise, Steve and Alyssa Lee; Tammy Demers and Shawn Burns; Derek and JoAnna Colbath; Courtney Colbath; Shawn and Brailyn York; Richie, Kerri, Dalton and Kyle Demers; Doreen, Bob and Brittany Tiner; Nichole and Josh Tymoczko; Tiffany Tymoczko; Rodney and Adrianna Caniff; Donna and Frank Brown; Frankie Brown; Cheri, Kevin, Brianna, Megan and Brady Roy; Todd, Liza, Jordan and Cody Macomber; Taylor and Dillon Scribner; Jeff Macomber; Julie Macomber; Kathy and David Meserve; and Adam and Emma Meserve.

Family members unable to attend were Steven Lee, serving with the Marines in Hawaii; Michael Nadeau, serving with the Navy Seabees in Spain; and Curtis Cain, serving with the Air Force outside the country.
