OTISFIELD — A series of Christmas celebrations will take place in town on Saturday evening.
At 4:30 p.m. the Otisfield Community School will hold a concert featuring songs performed by students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The event will be accompanied by a homemade turkey dinner.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase in advance at the school, or the day of the concert at the door. The cost is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for children under 12, and $2 for performing students. The event is free for children under three.
The dinner and concert are scheduled to run until 6:30 p.m. A visit by Santa Claus to light the memorial Christmas tree will follow at the town office at 7 p.m. Lights for the tree are available at the town office for $2.50 each, and may be dedicated to the memory, or in the honor, of a loved one. Lights will be available for purchase until New Year’s Eve. Proceeds will go toward the scholarship fund.
After lighting the tree, Santa will remain for pictures and to greet children. Those wishing to donate refreshments to the event may do so at the town office from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday. For more information on the concert and dinner, contact Barbara Maguire at 627-4208.
