Brent Mulherin, 10, of
Litchfield, his father Todd and family friend Conner Brooks, right, carry the
Christmas tree that they cut down at Mason’s Tree Farm in Wales on Sunday. The
Mulherin family has been coming to Mason’s for 20 years or so, said Todd
Mulherin, whose wife, Amy, grew up next door to the farm. The tree farm has been
in the Mason family for 35 years, said owner Deborah Gile, a former Mason. Gile
and her husband Dwight took over the operation when her father, James Mason,
died in 2002. “We took over so we didn’t lose the family tradition, ” said
Gile. “It’s all about family.”
