Board: Sabattus Selectmen
Met: Tuesday night

Who owns Old County?
Issue: It’s unclear who owns Old County Road, which is part tar, part gravel, and with residents on both stretches. The town currently plows the tarred portion.
The scoop: Androscoggin County Commissioners have indicated “they have no claim or legal status with the road.”
Up next: Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Jan. 5, their next regular meeting, and hope to hear from anyone with information.

Dogs on ice
Issue: A man recently called the code office asking to set up a bait and hot dog stand on Sabattus Pond during ice fishing season. The town doesn’t have any policy or ordinance that covers that.
The scoop: Summer hot dog stands — on land — have been approved by the board on a case-by-case basis.

Up next: Staff will draft a few policy recommendations for selectmen to consider.

New faces, seats
Issue: The Board of Selectmen elected Scott Lansley as its new chairman and Ronda Fournier as vice chairwoman.
Issue: George Gowell was appointed to the Budget Committee, filling out that board.
Issue: Jeff Baril, whose term as selectman expired last month, was appointed to the Planning Board.
