LEWISTON – Marisa Zamrock scored five goals and was credited with four assists and teammate Emilie Cloutier dropped in four more goals as Lewiston ripped Scarborough with an 11-4 victory in a girls’ hockey game at the Colisee in Lewiston on Friday.

The Blue Devils (5-1-1) had the game firmly in hand after building a 10-3 after two periods of action.

For the Blue Devils, Taylor Teixiera scored two goals and was credited with four assists. The Red Storm’s Mariah Sterrer turned in a hat trick.

Girls’ basketball

Mountain Valley 42, Georges Valley 29

THOMASTON – Mountain Valley jumped out to a 10-0 lead, held off a couple of Georges Valley charges, then pulled away for a 42-29 victory in Mountain Valley Conference girls’ basketball action Friday night.

Ayla Allen led all scorers with 13 points for the Falcons (3-2) with 13 points while Emily Knapp added 11. Jill Bradbury led the Buccaneers (1-5) with eight points.

Hebron 46, Buckfield 20

HEBRON – Junior Malorie Johnson drained 22 points to lead Hebron to a 46-20 rout over Buckfield in girls’ basketball action Friday.

The Lumberjacks jumped out to a 22-9 halftime lead. Junior forward Janelle Bradish also posted double-digit scoring with 16 points for Hebron.

Senior guard Ashlee Hamann was the leading scorer for the Bucks (0-5) with a 3-point field goal and a pair of free throws for five points in the losing effort.

Wiscasset 42, Mt. Abram 34

SALEM – Junior Mary Ellen True tossed a game-high 13 points to lead Wiscasset to a 42-34 victory over Mt. Abarm in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday.

The Redskins (1-5) tabulated five of their 15 second-quarter points from the foul line, while the Roadrunners (0-6) were zero of 17 from the foul line in the entire first half. Alli Johnson and Heather McCrae each chipped in with eight points for Wiscasset.

Senior guard Kylie Rolbeicki was the leading scorer for Mt. Abram with seven points on three field goals and a free throw.

Rangeley 45, Valley 26

RANGELEY – Allison Hammond poured in 21 points and led the defense with seven steals to lift Rangeley to a 45-26 victory over Valley in an EWC girls’ game Friday.

Clinging to a 9-7 advantage after one quarter, the Lakers (2-4) went on a 19-8 run to take command of the game.

Only three Rangeley players scored.

Sierra Marchacos held Valley’s top scorer Jocelyn laweryson to seven points, well below her 22-point average.

Emily Carrier chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds, while Chantal Carrier had 10 points. Jenney Abbott and Marchcos also had six rebounds.
