JAY — Funeral services for Robert E. “Bob” Sanders of Jay, formerly of Livermore Falls, were held Monday from the First Baptist Church, Church Street, Livermore Falls, with Pastor John Hall officiating. Therese Therrien served as the organist and Dianne Hirsh, soloist, sang “In the Garden”. Congregational hymns included “Surely the Presence of the Lord Is in This Place” and “My Jesus, I love Thee”. Eulegies were given by Ruth Cushman, Jay Town Manager and friend; Chief Larry White, Jay Police Dept. and a friend and Blaine Rackliff, Franklin County Sheriff’s Dept. and friend. Pallbearers were Jay Chief of Police, Larry White, Kevin Sanders, Jacob Sanders, Rick Wilcox, Ted Chaney and Doug Caton. Full military honors were provided by members of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 and the Lane Dube AMVETS Post 33, both of Jay as well as a military contingency from Camp Keyes, Augusta. His grandson, Gavin Sanders presented the flag to his grandmother. After services, a meal of comfort was served in the vestry by the Church fellowship. Spring committal services will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery, Livermore Falls. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, Jay.
