LEWISTON — The Connected Catholics of Central Maine invites all Catholic singles, widowed, divorced, never married or
separated, to usher in the new year together.

A New Year’s Eve potluck will be held from  6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at the Holy Cross Parish Center, 16 St. Croix St. Those attending should respond to 782-8868 by Wednesday, Dec. 30. For more information about the event and upcoming movie nights, game nights and outings, e-mail

Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 21st were as follows: first, Lue Bilodeau and Luke Merry; second/third tie, Anna Vitiello and Rosemarie Goodwin with Roger Labbe and Larry Fortier; fourth, Cynthia and Bill Clifford; first in B, Roger Labbe and Larry Fortier; second, Cynthia and Bill Clifford.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games.

Local Quakers

DURHAM — Quakers from
Durham, Brunswick and Lewiston are exploring ways to share the core concepts
of Quaker spirituality with the wider local community.

The
collaborative exploration process will culminate in three Quaker Quest
workshops to be held at Durham Friends Meeting House, 532 Quaker Meeting
House Road, in the spring of 2010. These workshops will be evening gatherings open and free of
charge to any one interested in Quakerism. Refreshments will be included and
more detailed information will follow in January.
