Edward Little 8, Cony 6

AUGUSTA – Drew Lupardo led a trio of players with two goals as Edward Little hustled to a 8-6 victory over Cony in boys’ hockey action Wednesday evening.

Jared Pelletier and Dylan Nadeau also tallied twice for the Red Eddies (3-2), while single tallies by Mat Gordon and Cody Russell completed the scoring. Edward Little outshot the Rams (2-4) 35-32 in this hard-fought contest. 

Alan Nelson stopped 26 shots between the pipes for Edward Little. 

Girl’s hockey

Lewiston 8, Biddeford 4

BIDDEFORD – Sara Marden sparked a four-goal first period as Lewiston skated to a 8-4 victory over Biddeford in a girls’ hockey matchup on Wednesday. 

Marden netted two goals within three minutes to give the Blue Devils (6-1-1) the early advantage. Taylor Teixeira, Natalie Rousseau and Marissa Zamrock also tallied twice for Lewiston to complete the scoring.

Sara Grover registered a hat trick for Biddeford (4-4), while Hailey Reny also scored a goal. Sarah Turner handled netkeeping duties for Lewiston and notched the win.

Boys’ basketball

Boothbay 75, St. Dom’s 63

AUBURN – Anthony DiMauro threw in the team-high 24 points and three other teammates scored in double digits as Boothbay escaped with 75-63 victory in a back-and-forth boys’ basketball game Wednesday evening.

The Saints (4-3) built an impressive 29-26 lead at half time before it dwindled away in the fourth quarter. Boothbay’s Rob Cronk scored 14 points, Brian Hubbard 11 and teammates Scott Alley and Jake Simmons each had 10.

For St. Dom’s, Peter Keaney piled up the game-high 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Tim Day scored 14 points and ripped away 10 rebounds, and Kurt Johnson was good for 11 points.
