CRESCENT CITY, Calif. — The wedding of Ashton Echo Powell and Kristoffer Pate Mattingly, petty officer first class, USCG, was held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 12 in the garden at the home of the grandparents of the bride, Ray and Roberta Colby, in Crescent City, Calif. Chaplain Chat Hilger officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Mattingly is the daughter of Christy Powell of Crescent City, Calif., and Jesse Powell of Fortuna, Calif. Mr. Mattingly is the son of Joseph and Anita Mattingly of Litchfield and the late Cheryl Mattingly.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless white lace gown with tufts of tulle and she carried a bouquet of mixed flowers.
Ashley Luttrell, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Haley Restad, friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. Rhynda Colby, aunt of the bride, was flower girl.
Kyle Seeley was best man for his friend. Usher was Justin Sirois, friend of the bridegroom. Logan McConaughey, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
A reception followed at the Crescent City Fire Hall in the reception room, after which the couple traveled to Maui. They are residing in Forks, Wash.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Del Norte High School and a 2002 graduate of Vogue Beauty Academy. She is employed at Shot in the Dark Espresso.
The bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of Lewiston High School and is serving with the U.S. Coast Guard Station at Quillayute River in La Push, Wash.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Beverly and the late Richard Peterson of Auburn and the late Joseph and Martha Mattingly of Kentucky.
