Buckfield 71, Rangeley 66 (OT)
RANGELEY — Jarek Boyd scored six points in overtime Tuesday to lift Buckfield to a 71-66 victory over Rangeley in a EWC boys’ basketball tilt.

Allan Erdenechuluun led the Bucks (3-4) with 20 points, while Boyd finished with 19 and Kasey Robertson added 17. Rangeley held a 10-point advantage before Buckfield went on a 22-12 run in the third frame to pull back into contention. 

The Lakers (1-6) were paced by Zack Abbott and Eric White with 14 points each, while Alex Morton tallied 13 and Jordan Richards added 11. 

Mt. View 69, Oak Hill 49
THORNDIKE — The Mt. View squad exploded for 34 points in the fourth quarter and ran off to a 69-49 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC action Tuesday evening.

Mike Cocharane led the Mustangs (6-2) with a game-high 17 points, including eight in the final frame. Tim Alton and Zach Babin also contributed for Mt. View with 11 points each. 

The Raiders (2-6) were paced by Ben Foss with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Tim Levesque lit the boards with 16 points and added five assists. Oak Hill managed to stay in contention for three quarters, but ran out of gas in the final frame.

Waterville 4, St. Dom’s 2
WATERVILLE — Nick DeBlois and Tim Locke each netted a goal in the third period to lift Waterville to a 4-2 victory over St. Dom’s in local hockey action Tuesday. 

Nate Bergeron gave the Saints (3-3) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame with an assist from Alex Parker. DeBlois tied the game at 1-1 just five minutes later as Waterville (7-1) stood strong. 

Each team added a goal in the second, with Dylan Rodrigue finding the net for St. Dom’s while David Cooke scored for Waterville.

Ryan Cormier made 24 saves between the pipes for Waterville, while Shayne Curtis turned aside 29 shots for St. Dom’s.

AUBURN — Bo Leary dropped in 15 points and snatched eight rebounds and teammate James Philbrook scored 12 and pulled down another eight rebounds as Edward Little bounced Mt. Ararat with a 59-43 victory in a boys’ basketball game Tuesday night.

The Red Eddies (5-2) built a narrow 23-21 lead by halftime before piling up another 36 points in the second half.

Cody Nicholas was good for two 3-pointers and scored 10 points. The Eagles’ Josh Walker threw in the game-high 19 points and teammate Will Gerenter had 13.

Edward Little 59, Mt. Ararat 43

Leavitt 53, Belfast 28

BELFAST – Jordan Hersom led a balanced attack with 14 points and Lucas Witham added 10 to pace Leavitt to a 53-28 boys’ basketball victory over Belfast in a KVAC game Tuesday.

Hersom also controlled the boards, finishing with 10 rebbounds. Witham had a strong all-around game with five rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocks.

The Hornets (3-5) led 14-6, 31-14 and 42-21 at the the quarter breaks.

Lake Region 64, Poland 48

NAPLES – Poland had few answers for Matt Langadas, who scored a game-high 30 points to lead Lake Region to a 64-48 triumph over the Knights.

Trailing 34-21 at intermission, Poland (2-6) fought back in the third quarter to cut the deficit to single digits before Lake Region (6-2) pulled away.

Anthony Kennedy added 14 points and Zach Tomkinson had 11.

Mike Littlefield scored 13 points for Poland, while Kyle MacVane and Matt Brewster added 12 apiece. Brewster also hauled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
