Albert J. Boisvert

1928 – 2010

LEWISTON — Albert J. Boisvert, 81, of 157 Grove St., Lewiston, died Thursday, Jan. 7, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 30, 1928, the son of Alcide and Maria (Baillargeon) Boisvert. He was educated at Holy Family School, and attended Holy Family Church in Lewiston, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for several years.

He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, worked 20 years as a shoe cutter at Knapp Shoe, and three years at Bath Iron Works.

Albert enjoyed fishing, traveling, country music and football.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Jeannine V. (Fournier) Boisvert whom he married on Sept. 25, 1954; five children, Doris Masse, Suzanne Sirois and her husband, Albert, Roland Boisvert and his wife, Micheline “Mimi,” daughter-in-law, Dawn Boisvert, and David Boisvert who is serving in the Air Force in Missouri and his fiancée, Amy Hamp; nine grandchildren, Lenny Masse Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, Maria Masse, Larry Masse and his girlfriend, Nicole, Renata, Andrew, Stephen Boisvert, Heather Boisvert, and Justin and Morgan Boisvert; two great-grandchildren, Ashalen and Desiree; two sisters, Gilbertte Bechard and Aline Boisvert; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Ronald, in 2006; four brothers, Fernand, Reginald, Arthur and Normand; and two sisters, Madeline Michaud and Joanne Burgess.
