Annual meeting

MEXICO – The annual meeting of the Mexico Congregational Church, United Church
of Christ, will be held on Sunday, Jan. 17, following the 9 a.m. worship
service. Members will hear reports of officers and committees for 2009.
They will vote for a slate of officers and a budget for 2010. Officers
and committees are reminded that their reports should be submitted as
soon as possible to be included in the printed Annual Report.

Society program

RUMFORD – The Rumford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Rumford Falls
Auditorium in the Municipal Building, 145 Congress St. The program will be a projected photo presentation titled
“Evolution of the Development of the Water Power at the Rumford Falls.” William Weston will provide the information and Curtis Rice
will direct the digital photo portion of the program.

The society encourages all members and interested persons to attend
the meeting. Dues of $10 will still be accepted by the Treasurer,
Lewis Irish, at the meeting.
Any dues not paid by the January meeting will result in those
individuals being removed from the mailing list in the future.

Senator office hours

RUMFORD – A representative from Senator Susan Collin’s Lewiston office will hold office hours from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Rumford Town Office, 145 Congress St.

State Office Representative Carlene Tremblay will be available to
hear constituents voice any concerns they might have and to provide
assistance with federal issues and agencies, such as Social Security,
Veterans Affairs, and Citizenship and Immigration. No appointment is
necessary.

Poker tournament

RUMFORD — There will be a Texas hold’em tournament on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Eagles Club. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Only 100 seats are
available at a cost of $30. To sign up,

$5.

RAAPA rehearsals

MEXICO – The RAAPA Chorus will begin rehearsals at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, in the Lecture Hall at the Mountain Valley Middle School. The deadline for ordering a folder of music is Wednesday, Jan. 20. Call Jeannine Murray at 562-4656.
