Edward G. Bergeron
1929 – 2010
LEWISTON — Edward G. Bergeron “Gerry,” 80, of Pond Road, Lewiston died Sunday, Jan. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a brief illness.
He was born in Levis, Quebec, July 11, 1929, a son of the late Edouard A. and Geraldine A. (Lepine) Bergeron. Gerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for many years at American Concrete. Upon his retirement, he was a currier for FISK which he truley enjoyed.
He has been a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church, were he sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8742, Assembly 2173.
He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinnacle and Cribbage, he also enjoyed watching sports on TV and especially NASCAR. He loved sharing time with his family at gatherings.
He leaves a daughter, Jennifer Pfeiffer and her husband, Jim, of Ellenton, Fla.; two sons, James Bergeron and Linda Bergeron of Madawaska and Gary Bergeron of Port Charlotte Fla.; his companion of more than 20 years, Lucille Reny of Auburn; her daughter, Karen Ouellette and her husband, Bob, of Poland; a sister, Lorraine Cote of Auburn; two brothers, Richard Bergeron and his wife, Marrianne, of Lewiston and Roland Bergeron of Auburn; a special brother, James McKay of New Gloucester; five grandchildren, Alison Bergeron of Maryland, Samantha Bergeron of Fort Kent, Natalie Pfeiffer of Florida, Zachary Pfeiffer of Florida, and Amy Ouellette of Massachusetts; a sister-in-law, Theresa Bergeron of Auburn; goddaughter, Kate Fraser; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Fern Bergeron; and a brother-in-law, Norm Cote.
