AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer “Fundamentals of Successful Fundraising” from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12. The cost of the workshop is $109 and includes materials.

The workshop is designed to give nonprofit leaders a comprehensive look at fundraising vehicles including annual funds, individual solicitations, capital campaigns, endowments, special events, letters, Internet and grass roots initiatives.

In the program, participants will learn the aspects of the fundraising cycle, the fundamental steps in making a compelling case for support and the necessary elements for implementing a fundraising plan including the critical role of board stewardship.

The program will be facilitated by Christos Gianopoulos. He has decades of experience in personal and professional development, leadership of community initiatives and teaching. He has been a project director for nonprofit organizations such as Maine Audubon Society and the Maine Lyceum. A graduate of Bowdoin College, he also holds graduate degrees from American University and Syracuse University.
